Two-time Olympic swimmer Katie Ledecky will be a three-time Olympian after she secured her ticket to Tokyo for the women’s 400-meter, 200-meter, and 1,500-meter freestyle events. She won all three events at the 2021 US Olympic swimming trials and plans to compete in one more final, for the 800-meter freestyle, on Saturday.
“In the ready room, I had this moment. It was like surreal that we’re even here,” the six-time Olympic medalist said after that first final in the 400-meter on Monday night. “It just was a great feeling to be there and to lock in my spot.” Locking in two other spots sure does make for an exciting week!
Ledecky, the most-decorated woman athlete of the 2016 Olympic Games, told POPSUGAR she won’t stop here. She hopes to swim in the Paris Olympic Games and, perhaps, in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, too.
Ahead, check out Ledecky’s qualifying races at the Olympic trials. She’s dominating, as per usual!
